this magic moment

well i went inside to find a pen and paper.
i made it back outdoors nearly an hour later, having sunk into the depths of facebook. blogs & emails...
upon leaping into my hammock, i found the laptop had remained glued to me, yet the paper & pen still lay inside.

so i will give in and record my reflections here, for myself and for you.

last month i attended a creative writing workshop with sweethome at breightenbush hot springs. it was my first experience there, and what a dreamy place! a real live thunderstorm blessed our final night there. as we laid in our cabin, we watched lightning crackle and thunder boom. as the storm passed, we made our way to the healing pools and sat under the falling rain and absorbed the heat, earth agni, ancient minerals, and soothing silence.

breightenbush hot springs...
 the river swollen with snowmelt.
i heard the bridge is a magical place to stargaze.
saving a list of new adventures creates magical daydreams.
warm weather & long summer weekend camping

a new seat.

today i am luxuriating in my backyard heaven. our two hammocks have found their summer homes. (of course june which i curse as "june-uary" will bring back some rains and force us back into the house.

as i reclined in my hammock i wanted to reflect deeply in this moment. the blue sky. wrinkly apple tree leaves waving to nobody in particular. the neverending wind, rhythmically sharing its blessing with all beings. the leaves dance with joy, frolic with blissful unawareness. unaware of the pain of self awareness. self realization is the path to connect us with all levels of consciousness and remove our humanness.
experiencing the embodiment of our divine nature.

cross section of compost...
we are beautifying & utilizing.
this truly is a summer of celebration & abundance.

Renegade Forest Wedding

Now that I am wearing this...
captured by mr. puckett

I find myself Gathering, Simmering, Dreaming...

michellepullman.blogspot.com/
Definitely creating a forest wedding. And a bike parade. And a dance party. Mr. P and I set the date. Tomorrow. To set the date. We need to make some phone calls, write some lists, and maybe even Mod Podge a notebook collage. I'm not really sure how to make all this magic happen, but I trust that it will go beyond my wildest dreams.

Enjoying growing my wedding blogroll... What are your top sites? I considered submitting an engagement story to A Practical Wedding, just read it the other day when my awesome boss shared her wedding graduates post. 100 Layer Cake makes me drool on a daily basis... my tumblr is full of very pretty things these days... pretty much is turning into a wedding planning blog. hopefully only for another year or so!

High Alpine Bliss

I'm back.

And ready to share. Today is another long day to cap off a week of wilderness trekking, summit hiking and hot springs wallowing. After teaching two yoga classes today, Travis and I head to celebrate the wedding of one of the owners of the fabulous Breakside Brewery. But tomorrow I have all day to blog, do laundry, and share.

So here is a little teaser to share with you. I fully intend to process all my pics and get them up to Flickr. I need to do a better job of photo management... iPhoto is kind of a mess when trying to organize, access & backup your library {please discuss!}. I just recently backed up & deleted over 12,000 photos! And that is only from 2008. My oh my. I've inherited the documentary bug from my dear Dad.

Have a beautiful, safe holiday weekend!

practice, and all is coming

wild iris

I couldn't find my handy little point and shoot camera for our camping adventure at Horning's Hideout, so I was forced to practice with T's DSLR. Overall I love it, but not many of my peacock pictures turned out well. I tried to stick pincha mayurasana next to a lovely dude, but neither he nor I were having it.

sunny day

A moment in time, as I lay in the grass next to a babbling creek bed, watching insects.
Travis and I explored the entire park on mountain bikes, and as he climbed to the top of twisty, adrenaline-junkie trails, I meandered down, the sound of the water pulling me closer through overgrown trails which ended in secluded spots, perfect for quiet contemplation.

Still working on getting back into my routine, I think I should start scheduling posts a week in advance for my yoga training weeks, because the long hours at work take over my evening blogging time!

rosy posy day

As the cat comes in to wake me from my slumber, I open my eyes to the canopied peaks of my darling bed tucked away in a secret attic bedroom.
While the sun rises, I take a long soak in the tub to start my day.

After  preparing hand picked eggs and fresh goat cheese I'll read the paper in the east facing sitting room
{living etc via city sage}

After indulging the mind,  I'll adorn the body with whimsy and color

I'll walk down the path to my little red barn where my loving animals reside.

Checking in on the new spring chickens, perhaps taking a few photos of them in impossibly cute positions.

A nap must follow such an entertaining morning, so I retreat to the orchard for a sun dappled rest.

Then perhaps a dinner party with a few of my closest friends

then off to sleep...
and dream of riding the subway in our underpants

fabric of friendship

Brae Howard is one talented lady! A friend is a wonderful thing to promote in a skill set, at least in my opinion.
Her work is fun & colorful. She travels,  blogs and lives in Philly.

I love finding people connected to people. I am a big fan of Elenor Grosh, of pushmepullyou design, and Brae shot some promotional portraits for her.

This post title makes me want to go drool over some fabric... now I will have to think of another witty post title for an actual fabric post!

texas bliss

One of my dearest friend from Texas gave me a fantastic reason to fly back home this spring a lovely Austin style wedding!
The preview from her photographer's blog {Leigh Miller Photography} are so special. She captured the energy, beauty and magic of the whole event so well.

28 years young

The peony my mom sent me for my birthday last year is growing fast this spring, but sure isn't going to have any blooms like this one in time for my bday!

white-peony

This year I requested some home video DVDs from Dad. Ever the techie man in the family, always fixing grandma's VCR, he hauled around the massive video camera for family beach trips, holidays, birthdays, and regular ol' backyard shenanigans. Watching old home videos is one of my sister's and my favorite things to do when we all get together over the holidays.

Dad's Pentax was a beaut... I love the rounded edges from the photographs, and the vintage colors. There is something lacking with the digital life of our photos... I suppose with technology such as iPads and iPhones making photos available at all times, digital photos are more accessible these days. But something about received a fat package of printed memories is so unique.

Oh and did you know I love skirts? Yup. Still do.
Now where did I put that awesome straw hat?

aha!

A while back, while I waxed poetic about potential tattoos and all the amazing examples in the blogosphere, there was one in particular I couldn't find again. And today: Voila!

hilltop

"For the past 2 years I have visited a beautiful mound of earth that I have come to call "the hill." Each time I have come to the hill a new story is told to me as if the hill is my stage and the locals are the actors in this daily play."
